The son of a missing doctor from Munster, Indiana, has been charged after scuffling with police at his mother's home.

The Northwest Times reports Paresh Paul was charged Friday with battery, resisting arrest and other felonies.

Police had been called to investigate reports of a domestic disturbance at the home.

Paul has been named as a person of interest in the disappearance of his mother in March.

Investigators believe 70-year-old doctor Promila Mehta-Paul is dead.
