The first shipments of 2012 Volkswagen Beetles were delivered to Volkswagen of Orland Park, and 21 lucky members of Oprah's audience were waiting to get their keys.
The cars were among 276 promised last November as surprise gifts to those attending a special "ultimate favorite things" studio taping of The Oprah Winfrey Show.
The president and CEO of Volkswagen America was on hand to pass the keys to the happy new owners.
Oprah did not attend Thursday's event.
