Drivers ticketed for keeping old city stickers

October 18, 2011 (CHICAGO)

An ordinance could cost some drivers $120.

The Chicago Tribune reports the ordinance requires car owners to put stickers at the lower passenger side corner on the inside of the windshield and follow the instructions on the sticker. Those instructions include removing the previous year's sticker.

After one of his constituents received a ticket, Chicago Alderman Richard Mell sent an e-mail to residents in his ward reminding them to scrape off their old stickers.
