Midnight Circus performed on Saturday at Franken Plaza -- known the rest of the year as Daley Plaza.
There was also a costume contest. Children ages 12 and under were invited to take part. They were judged in multiple categories including funniest costume, most creative and scariest.
Franken Plaza continues through Sunday.
In Lincoln Park, there was live entertainment along North Clark Street Saturday afternoon as merchants hosted their annual Spooktacular.
Children could also take part in a costume contest and even get in a little trick-or-treating.
Some runners also got into the Halloween spirit as they took part in Saturday's Monster Dash 5K and Half Marathon.
Both races took off from Arvey Field in Grant Park. This is the second year for the event.
