It was a Day of the Dead celebration in Chicago's Pilsen neighborhood.

On Sunday night, dancers led children and their parents to an altar on South Morgan Street.

According to Mexican tradition, this is the day where the spirits of all the children who have passed away are welcomed back. Their favorite toys, food and sweets are placed on an altar.

The pre- Halloween event also celebrates the continuations of life in the young.
