The fire at the Lydia Healthcare Center in Robbins, Ill., broke out on the sixth floor at about 1 a.m. Monday. The building's sprinkler system went off, and now the facility must be cleaned. Most of the damage was caused by smoke and water.
The patients were moved to a nearby community center where the Red Cross was helping to take care of them. They should be able to go back to the building later Monday.
Investigators suspect a resident smoking in bed caused the fire.
Three residents and one employee were hospitalized, but none of the injuries is life threatening.
