This month, Chicago Water Commissioner Thomas Powers and Mayor Rahm Emanuel announced a 20-year, $2.8 bill project to upgrade Chicago's water and sewer systems.

Rates will rise for Chicagoans and for the residents of 125 suburbs that use water that Chicago takes from Lake Michigan.

We'll discuss why the project is needed, and what will be done. Other topics will include the city's new water meters, water cleanliness, and anything the commissioner can say publicly about how our water system is protected from possible terrorism.
