According to a government study , kidney, heart, liver or lung transplant recipients face double the risk of cancer compared to the general population.
Researchers suspect the toll a transplant takes on the immune system may have something to do with the increased risk. But they say more research is needed to pinpoint what is going wrong.
Research details are in this week's Journal of the American Medical Association.
