Firefighters were called to an Uptown garage just before 10 a.m. Thursday morning. A woman inside apparently had been burned to death.
Police say it appeared that someone had thrown charcoal on the woman to cover up the killing.
Friends have identified the victim as 54-year-old Margie Santiago. They say she lived with her parents in the building in the 5000-block of North Clark and took care of them.
