Wounded carjacking victim crashes car into home

November 4, 2001 (CHICAGO)

A short time later the car crashed into a brownstone in the 2700-block of West Harrison.

The impact knocked a boy off a couch.

Police say the incident started as the victim parked his car early Friday morning. That is when three people approached, opened the door, pulled him out and shot him in the leg.

The suspects took the victim's jacket, drove off in a 2000 Pontiac Bonneville, then crashed into the house.

No one in the house was hurt. They were just shaken up.

The carjacking victim is hospitalized.

Police were still searching for his attackers Friday afternoon.
