No bond for grandson accused of killing off-duty cop

November 6, 2011 (CHICAGO)

Fifteen-year-old Keshawn Perkins was the grandson of officer Hester Scott and lived with her in a home on the South Side.

Perkins was in court Sunday to face murder charges. He was denied bond.

Prosecutors say Officer Scott yelled at Perkins for skipping school and that is when the teenager hit her with a lamp and stabbed her with a kitchen knife Friday morning.

Perkins is charged with first-degree murder and one count of armed robbery.
