Police believe a man arrested in a car burglary in the 3100-block of South Lake Shore Drive may be responsible for other break-ins in the area.

Leonard Jamison, 46, of the 4800 block of West Erie, was arrested on November 10, 2011, after a blood sample found in a burglarized car matched his DNA. He is accused of breaking into a car parked along the lakefront and stealing personal property, including a purse, smart phone and more. Police say Jamison used a stolen credit card. He is charged with one felony count of burglary in the.

Detectives serving a search warrant found additional property -- phones, purses, wallets, computers, cameras and more than 100 gift cards -- that may have been stolen. Victims of recent car break-ins should visit Area 3 Headquarters at 2452 West Belmont on November 17 and 18 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
