Chicago Park District raises some fees

November 24, 2011 (CHICAGO)

The budget includes no property tax hike and has new discounts for families and the military- but handful of amenities would see increases:

  • A round of golf at a park district course or a bucket of balls at a driving range would cost a dollar more.
  • parking for Chicago Bears season ticket holders would increase $3 per game,
  • and the price of keeping a boat at any or Chicago's harbors -- Burnham, DuSable and Belmont -- would go up 3-percent a year, costing a typical boater $100 to $200 more.

The fee hikes are aimed at closing a budget gap of about $25 million.
