Bond denied for Chicago hospital shooting suspect

November 27, 2011 (CHICAGO)

Earl Roberts of Chicago was ordered held without bond Sunday in the shooting of Angela Bonds.

Officers pulled over Roberts early Friday during a routine traffic stop. The officer recognized him from a description in a campus alert.

Both Bonds and Roberts worked in the hospital's housekeeping department. Police have characterized the killing as an "apparent domestic-related shooting." The hospital was locked down for several hours after the shooting as police searched for the suspect.
