Emanuel attends medical fundraisers

December 10, 2011 (CHICAGO)

The Children's Ball of the Medical Research Institute Council celebrated 60 years of pediatric medical fundraising at its Hilton Towers gala. For the past 20 years, the organization has been the fundraising partner for children's memorial hospital.

From there the mayor headed south to Mccormick Place and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund's "Chance of a Lifetime" gala. The event, now in its 32nd year, raises money to find a cure for Type 1 diabetes. Following a sit-down dinner, there were silent and live auctions. Organizers are aiming to raise $3.2 million.
