The driver of the car lost control and hit several trees and a light pole at 111th Street around 1:30 a.m. Three people were thrown from the car on impact.
Four were critically injured and the other suffered minor injuries.
State police are investigating.
The crash closed the southbound lanes of I-57 in the early hours.
