Chicago police officers shot a man who investigators say threatened officers with a gun at a CTA train stop.

It happened Sunday night at the CTA Pink Line station at 20th and Western in the Little Village neighborhood.

Police say a man was holding a gun to his head, threatening to kill himself.

A sergeant urged the man to put the gun down and offered to get him help. Instead, police say, the man pointed the gun at the officer and the officer shot him.

The train station was closed for several hours while police investigated.
