New push to decrease volume on TV ads

The Federal Communication Commission passed regulations that require broadcasters, satellite and cable television providers to maintain steady volume levels between programming and commercials.

A recent Harris poll found that 86 percent of consumers surveyed said TV commercials are louder than the programs they watch.

The new rules go into effect in December of 2012.
