A demolition team is tearing down what's left of a house in north suburban Skokie that blew up Monday.

One man was injured when the vacant two-flat exploded in the 8700 block of North Kimball Avenue.

Once the building is dismantled, firefighters will go through the rubble to determine the exact cause of the blast, although a gas leak is suspected.

The building was under renovation which is why no one was living there, according to fire officials.

No other buildings in the area were seriously damaged.
