Maggie Daley honored by Cook County Board

December 14, 2011 (CHICAGO)

The board adopted a resolution in memory of Mrs. Daley. She was honored for her many accomplishments.

The resolution mentioned her founding of After School Matters, her inspiration to women living with breast cancer, and especially her work for the children of Chicago.

"She was able to reach out to so many young people and affect so many young people's lives and change it, and it was a challenge," said Commissioner John Daley. "People said you can't do it, and she said, I believe you can change and we have a responsibility to help the young people of the city."

The board also offered its condolences to the Daley family.
