A soldier who killed his wife shortly after returning from Iraq has been sentenced to 17 years in prison.

Joseph Jesk, 24, apologized in court to his wife's family, their daughters and the judge.

Jesk pleaded guilty to fatally shooting his wife Heather during an argument at their Oak Lawn home in February 2010. They had just returned home after attending a fundraiser with relatives. Jesk had just returned from an 11-month long tour of duty in Iraq.
