Holiday celebrations while fighting cancer

The recent passing of former Chicago first lady Maggie Daley shows just how breast cancer and other serious illnesses impact families, especially during what is supposed to be a cheerful holiday season.

But cancer doesn't have to destroy your holiday spirit. Elizabeth Esposito is a metastatic breast cancer patient, who is being treated with Herceptin by Genentech. Metastatic breast cancer is cancer that has spread to other parts of the body.

- Do be flexible in your planning.

- Don't pressure yourself to be "happy" just because it is the holiday season.
