Chicago police are kicking off operation Santa 2011 Saturday morning at Macy's on State Street.

Santa Claus, the Chicago Police Memorial Foundation and Macy's officials will load up gifts which will go to 19 families of slain and injured police officers.

Among those getting gifts Saturday are the children of Sgt. Philip O'Reilly. He died in 2003 when a tow truck hit his squad car on the North Side.

On Sunday, gifts will be delivered to the family of police officer Eric Lee, who was shot to death in 2001 when he and two other officers tried to help a citizen who was being beaten in Englewood.
