Celebrating Hanukkah: Holiday Recipes

Also known at the "Festival of Lights", Hanukkah is an 8-day Jewish Holiday commemorating the rededication of the Holy Temple in Jerusalem. The holiday is rich in customs including eating foods fried or baked in oil to commemorate the miracle of a small flask of oil keeping the flame in the Temple alight for 8 days.

Traditional foods include potato pancakes, known as latkes and sephardi, jam-filled doughnuts. Chef Laura Frankel, the author of "Jewish Cooking for All Seasons" and "Jewish Slow Cooker Recipes" shares her recipes for these two traditional Jewish foods.
