2nd suspect arrested in South Side Aldi killing

A Chicago man who was considered a federal fugitive has been arrested and ordered held without bond for allegedly killing a security guard at a South Side Aldi store last month.

Michael E. Smith, 31, faces charges of first degree murder along with aggravated battery and armed robbery. He fled to Wisconsin after the November 10th robbery and shooting at the on the 9000-block of South Halsted. He was arrested in Racine, Wisconsin. His alleged accomplice, Develt Bradford, 52, was arrested on November 15 but later hanged himself in his cell.
