Westmont fire chief on leave after drunken-driving charges

The fire chief of Westmont has been placed on paid administrative leave after he was charged with drunken driving.

The DuPage County Sheriff's Department says Chief FrankTrout hit a parked car on a border of Westmont last Friday.

Trout was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving too fast for conditions and failure to reduce speed.

Trout was taken into custody but was later released after posting bail. The village says he was off duty at the time of the accident.
