The State of Illinois is offering people with disabilities some help to plan for emergencies.

The emergency management agency has put together a booklet with tips on things such as dealing with life-support systems during a crisis or making sure guide dogs get proper care. It has sections related to hearing loss, blindness, lack of mobility, mental illness and more.

The information can be found at the website ready.illinois.gov.

The emergency management agency says it plans to highlight a different aspect of emergency planning during each month this year.
