Little is left of the building on Northwest Frontage Road near Shorewood.
Last Thursday, the owner of an adjacent business told deputies he received a phone call that the building would be dismantled because the property had been sold.
But the landowner told police it is not true, and that he never gave anyone permission to knock down his property.
No one has been arrested in the case.
