Thirty-eight-year-old James Guttridge was arrested at his home in Rockford Friday morning.
Guttridge has been charged with sexual assault and aggravated sexual abuse, both of which are felonies.
Investigators say Guttridge had inappropriate sexual contact with a 14-year-old student during the 2008-2009 school year.
Guttridge is being held on an $80,000 bond.
