Art Institute to open exhibit by Indian artist

"The Last Harvest: The Paintings of Rabindranath Tagore" opens Jan. 29. The Art Institute, artic.edu, says it will be the first museum exhibition of his paintings and sketches and is timed to mark the 150th anniversary of Tagore's birth.

Tagore is largely known as a poet, playwright, musician and philosopher. He was the first non-European recipient of the Nobel Prize for literature. Tagore died in 1941.

The Chicago exhibition will include 61 works on paper. It runs through April 15.
