Conservatory house damaged by hail reopens

The final portion of the Garfield Park Conservatory damaged by last June's hailstorm was reopened Sunday.

The glass panels broken during the hailstorm have all been replaced.

Guests can once again enjoy the conservatory's aroid house and desert house, which had been off-limits during the repair work.

The reopening celebration coincided with the conservatory's observance of the Chinese New Year.

Guests were treated to a procession through Horticulture Hall marking 2012 as "the Year of the Dragon."
