Mayor Ed Zabrocki and the Tinley Park Village Board invited Ben to be the Honorary Grand Marshal after morning show anchors Roz Varon, Judy Hsu, and Tracy Butler gave Ben grief for never having led a parade.
Tinley Park says the parade is a family-friendly event that usually draws several thousand people. It steps off at 2 p.m. and travels northbound on Oak Park Avenue from approximately 181st Street to about 171st Street.
