Returned Xoom tablets could have previous owners' data

February 3, 2012 (CHICAGO)

Motorola Mobility says about 100 Xoom tablets that were refurbished and then resold on the website Woot.com may not have been properly wiped of the previous owners' data.

Motorola is offering two years of free credit monitoring to anyone who bought a Zoom tablet between March and October of last year and then returned the computer. The affected Xoom tablets were resold between October and December.

Owners should check the Motorola website to see if their machine is affected.
