According to a police alert, a black Dodge Challenger with a chrome gas tank cover hit a University of Illinois at Chicago student who was crossing the street on the 800-block of West Roosevelt Road around 3:20 p.m. The student was seriously injured
After hitting the student, police say the car fled southbound on Halsted Street and was last seen at 18th and Halsted.
