No injuries reported in the two-story building fire in the 4700-block of North Central Park.
The fire started at 4:15 a.m. on the second floor and spread to another two-story building, according to Fire Media Affairs. A second alarm was called and the fire was extinguished by 4:40 a.m.
The fire burned the rear porches of both buildings. Fire Media Affairs said.
The Chicago Red Cross sent a team to help those affected by the two-alarm blaze, the agency said on its official Twitter feed early Thursday.
