Tai chi could help people with Parkinson's

A new study finds practicing tai chi twice a week helped Parkinson's disease patients improve their balance and walking ability.

Tai chi has been suggested for a while for Parkinson's, but it has not been scientifically or clinically validated.

This new research appears in the New England Journal of Medicine.

Tai chi was better than stretching and equal to resistance training at reducing the number of falls.

But, scientists add, stretching is also beneficial.
