Groups plan protest over CPS discipline code

A protest was planned at Chicago Public Schools headquarters Monday by a group that claims the district has a predatory discipline code.

Specifically, the group points to the discipline code at Noble Street Charter Schools.

Monday's demonstrators are supporters of Voice of Youth in Chicago Education and Parents United for Responsible Education. They say disciplinary fines against students amount to a hidden tax that impacts black and Latino families.

Protesters said they planned to march from CPS headquarters to city hall.
