Salmon Fillet

Recipe from BJ's Market and Bakery, 8734 South Stony Island Avenue and 1156 West 97th Street, which opened in May of 1997 and specializes in soul and southern comfort food.

  • Seasoning Mix: 1 teaspoon dried dill; 1 teaspoon salt; 1 teaspoon pepper. Mixed well.
  • 2 (8-ounce) salmon fillets
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
Heat saute pan until smoking. Sprinkle seasoning mix on salmon. Add butter to saute pan and lay the salmon skin side down. Cook for 3 minutes. Turn salmon over and reduce heat to medium flame. Cover saute pan and steam/sauté an additional 3 minutes. Serve with 2 ounces of dill sauce.

    Dill Sauce
  • 3/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon dried dill
  • 2 teaspoon sour cream
  • 1/2 teaspoons sugar
  • 2 tablespoons yellow mustard
  • salt
  • black pepper
  • Salt and pepper to taste. Mix well.
