Chicago area could get coating of new snow

February 13, 2012 (CHICAGO)

The snow started falling Monday evening in Joliet and could last into the morning hours. But it is not expected to amount to much.

The same storm is bringing plenty of snow to other areas. Parts of Missouri received their first measurable snow of the season. The conditions snarled traffic and shut down more than 180 school districts.

Roughly five inches of snow fell in Sioux City, Iowa Monday. Forecasters say more snow is expected Tuesday.

A combination of freezing rain and sleet created headaches for drivers in Bentonville, Arkansas. Some vehicles ended up skidding on slick roads caused by the wintry weather.
