The Northern Indiana Commuter Transportation District approved plans for a 5-percent fare increase effective February 15.
Fares will be rounded up to the nearest 25 cents.
Active-duty military personnel can ride at a reduced rate.
And starting Wednesday, commuters who use Metra's Link-Up pass have to pay more.
The pass for connecting travel between Metra, the CTA and Pace will go up from $39 to $45.
