Amtrak train from Chicago kills driver

February 17, 2012 (DELTA TOWNSHIP, Mich.)

The train was heading from Chicago to Port Huron, Michigan, when it hit a car near Lansing.

The driver of the car, who was the vehicle's only occupant, was killed; no one on the train was hurt -

Amtrak says buses took passengers to their destinations.

An Eaton County Central Dispatch operator says the crash happened about 9:10 p.m. Thursday in Eaton County's Delta Township.

There were about 145 passengers on board.
