Preckwinkle launches county campaign at auto show

February 17, 2012 (CHICAGO) County Board President Toni Preckwinkle launched the campaign today at the Chicago Auto Show. The effort has two key goals: encouraging people to support Cook County businesses and working with businesses to spur economic development. Preckwinkle hopes the campaign will lead to the creation of 2,500 new jobs this year.

"We have to begin to bolster our local economy so that we can begin the transition towards regional economic development. A strategy that doesn't pit cities against cities or counties against counties. We have to take a unified approach to economic growth," Preckwinkle said.

Preckwinkle launched the campaign at the auto show to highlight the car dealers, producers and suppliers in Cook County.
