Dorothy Brown has been clerk for 12 years. Alderman Rick Munoz wants to take the job away from her.
"After a decade in office, Brown has failed to provide the level of service that taxpayers have a right to expect. The most eye popping example is her failure to adopt an electronic filing system that would save the taxpayers millions," Munoz said.
"We have brought financial accountability to this office. We have actually brought financial accountability by reducing expenditures over the years and raising over $356 million new dollars in revenue by finding the best practices as to how to raise money," Brown said.
Brown and Munoz face off in the Democratic primary March 20.
