February 23, 2012 (CHICAGO) --Chicago police charged a man they say accidentally shot himself during a robbery Sunday outside a West Side convenience store. Police say Darrick Peterson tried to rob a 26-year-old man who fought back. Police say during the struggle, Peterson's gun went off; the bullet hit his leg, severing an artery. Peterson remains hospitalized at Mount Sinai. He faces several charges, including attempted first-degree murder.
