Man found guilty of trying to kill Chicago cop

February 25, 2012 (CHICAGO)

Cacini was accused of dragging officer Kristopher Rigan with his luxury car before pushing him out and running him over in April 2010 at Rush and Elm in the Gold Coast.

Rigan was left with a dislocated shoulder, missing teeth and abrasions.

Cacini then struck Rigan's partner with his car.

Cacini maintains he didn't know the men were officers and thought he was being carjacked.

Officers first approached Cacini after he picked up an alleged drug dealer. Marijuana was later found in Cacini's jacket.

He faces 20-80 years behind bars.
