It happened around 1:30 a.m. Saturday on South Indiana Avenue in the city's Pullman Neighborhood.
Police say Bernard Arnold had been playing cards with three other men.
When he answered his door, someone shot him in the head, chest and ankle. He died at the scene.
Arnold's friends are asking who would do this to a man who they say stayed out of trouble.
"He was loved by everybody...that kind of guy," said his friend Lloyd Gross
Police say the other men in the home did not see the gunmen and investigators have no description of the offender.
