Study: ADHD misdiagnosis more likely in young students

March 5, 2012 (CHICAGO)

A study in the Canadian Medical Association Journal provides more evidence that too many young children may be diagnosed simply because they're younger than their peers in the same classroom.

Authors say the study doesn't prove definitely that children are being misdiagnosed, but it's good for parents to be aware of this.

They also suggest parents whose children fit this category should bring this up with their pediatrician after a diagnosis.
