Oil pipeline may be closed days after deadly crash

March 5, 2012 (NEW LENOX, Ill.)

The accident happened early Saturday morning in New Lenox Township.

The pipeline carries Canadian oil from Superior, Wisconsin, to Griffith, Indiana.

Two men were killed and three critically injured in the accident

Investigators say two vehicles were speeding side by side when they crashed through a chain link fence and hit the pipeline, which burst into flame.

Repairs have not been completed and it is likely some refiners will have difficulty getting supplies of oil.
