Man attacked for defending Blackhawks fans

March 6, 2012 (DETROIT)

Councilman Robert Abraham said the two men attend Loyola University in Chicago with his 22-year-old son and had come in town to go to the game. As they were leaving Joe Louis Arena in Detroit on Sunday, Abraham said the attacker got upset about the Blackhawks jerseys and when he tried to calm him down, the attacker swung at him. Abraham said he has four stitches near his eye and bruises and facial cuts.

Detroit police are looking at surveillance video, according to officials.
