Maple syrup producers are feeling the effects of unseasonably warm weather.

This is maple-sugaring season. Sap flows best when temperatures are below freezing at night and warm and sunny during the day. This year that happened in Feburary and sap production has slowed.

Many syrup producers tapped their trees early. Some are choosing not to tap their trees at all this year.
